Carolina Panthers wide receiver Robbie Anderson was kicked out of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams by interim head coach Steve Wilks. Wilks sent Anderson to the locker room after Anderson had multiple tense exchanges with members of the Panthers’ staff.

Anderson first got heated in the third quarter of Sunday’s game, when the wide receiver got into the face of wide receivers coach Joe Dailey. The two were separated but continued to argue. Anderson then appeared to argue with Dailey again during the fourth quarter, at which point Wilks had seen enough and kicked the 29-year-old out of the game.

Anderson entered Sunday’s game with just 13 catches for 206 yards and a touchdown on the season. Anderson is signed with the Panthers through the 2023 season, having signed a two-year contract extension in 2021 worth $29.5 million. There have been recent reports that the Panthers are seeking to trading Anderson, so it not come as a huge surprise if Carolina cuts Anderson following Sunday’s incident.

Carolina also just fired head coach Matt Rhule after Week 5’s 37-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Rhule had an 11-27 record.
