After news broke that the Denver Broncos officially released veteran quarterback Russell Wilson, the new free agent shared a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the Denver Broncos organization and its fan base.

Wilson took to social media to express his gratitude and reflect on his time with the team. Wilson thanked teammates, staff members and his pastor, acknowledging the collective effort that defined his tenure with the Broncos: “Broncos Country, Thank You! Over these last two years, you have welcomed my family and me with open arms and have embraced us as members of the Denver community. This city will always hold a special place in my heart. Our family grew here, we made countless memories and friendships and formed relationships that will last a lifetime…Tough times don’t last, but tough people do. God’s got me. I am excited for what’s next.”

The Broncos officially announced Wilson’s impending release on their social media channels, with General Manager George Paton and head coach Sean Payton extending their well-wishes for Wilson’s future endeavors while emphasizing the team’s commitment to rebuilding.
