After dealing with years of infertility issues and multiple health battles, Maria Menounos and her husband Keven Undergaro have welcomed their first baby together. Us Weekly posted a link to an article with Menounos, 45, on Instagram along with the caption:  “I finally know where I belong.” 🤍 After a 10-year struggle with infertility, Maria Menounos has become a mother.”

The entertainment journalist shared with the publication that her daughter, Athena Alexandra, was born on June 23 via a surrogate, calling it “the most special moment of my life … I sat with her on my chest, and Keven and I kept looking at each other like, ‘Oh, my God.’ It was just pure joy. For so long, I’ve felt something’s been missing. And now I feel so grounded, like I finally know where I belong. Athena is our miracle baby. I’m so grateful for her.”” Menounos also explained how she and Undergaro chose the name Athena: “We knew we wanted a Greek name. . . . Athena is the goddess of war and wisdom, and Keven loved the power of that name, so that was it!”

Menounos announced that she and Undergaro, 55, were expecting their daughter back in February, and opened up about her 10-year fertility journey. Menounos was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2017, and she was also diagnosed with stage two pancreatic cancer back in January. She underwent a successful surgery to remove a 3.9 cm tumor on her pancreas and is now in remission.
